Thread: Bending aluminum into a case.

    Well, I made the first two major bends, and it looks like it's a success..

    Though the bending machine I got has a little difficulty with this thickness of material, it got the job done.. though it actually did bend the handles a bit.


    The two sides are uneven in height, but that's okay - I'll probably cut them to height with my dremel and a cutoff disk.

    The middle shelf / top will probably be joined to the case with some simple L-brackets and threaded holes.

    It's a CAD drawing of the silkscreen top of the motherboard.

    I printed it out to scale, so it's a pretty good representation of the real thing.

    On hold right at the moment, I've been working on wiring my LCD panel, and that's taking some time.


    For the case, I need to find the right size standoffs to mount the motherboard, and that's been taking me a little while too.

    you can always get some spacers that screw in from the bottom and then use them just like standoffs for your motherboard.. thats what I did... I believe I ordered them from Jameco.com and as I recall, they had a bunch of different lengths
