    Update:

The drawings are 1/2 done. They said I should be able to review them tomorrow for approval b4 milling a prototype piece.

I have an appointment scheduled with the machine shop on Tuesday afternoon to approve the final drawings. I'm REALLY hoping to have a prototype by the end of the week - 4/15.

Okay, the appointment went well - meaning, we're making progress. But now the ball is back in my court! I did not approve the drawings. My measurements were not generous enough to allow sufficient room for the LCD and DVD enclosure to clear the faceplate. In addition, we agreed that I needed to find a more robust solution for the base-plate that holds the DVD enclosure. Thankfully, my measurements DID allow for additional support material in that area.

I hope at least some of that makes sense. I'll be working on the redesign tonight and returning the new plans when they're done.

Thanks! It is coming along. I hit another bump in the road last night. I did not realize it when I was making my original measurements, but the LCD is not centered in its housing. It has a longer/wider frame on one side of the screen than the other. My drawings had it centered which would have made the LCD housing centered, but the viewable portion would have been lopsided. So unfortunately, I have to rework those measurements as well as make a mockup from foam. The good news in all of that is that since I will be creating a mockup, you guys can get a glimpse of what I'm having done.
