Good question!!! We return from Nassau on the 22nd of May and start catching up on the 23rd. I'll check in with the machine shop Monday 5/23 to see how things went. If, and that's a BIG IF, I get the chance to touch base with them at the end of next week, they may have the prototype done by then. But a million things need to be done for the wedding to come off like it should, so the faceplate is not at the top of the list next week. I'll post pics if it is at all possible. AHEM, Pics of the faceplate, NOT the honeymoon.
My first attempt at a carputer.

PM me if you're interested in a monitor faceplate for your '99-'04 Golf or Jetta. My Vortex ID is NorthAtlR32 - you can IM me there, too. Go here for more information.

I have only heard bad things about those types of beaches!

Lets just say some people should be covered up

I'm back! I'm sick - something about recycled air on planes - but I'll stoke up the machine shop tomorrow and give you guys a progress report. Until then, enjoy a couple of the 500+ pics from the honeymoon. Please don't repost them in the thread or anywhere else! I don't want the thread to go completely off-topic.

Don't get carried away. May not be safe for work. 56K beware!!!

I really appreciate your diligence and hard work. You're working really hard for us considering you're not making a profit off of this. Rest up and get back to this when you're better.

Not sure about Nassau, but I've been to Playalinda Beach in Florida. It's just south of Cape Canaveral, and just north of Titusville. You'll probably see some unsightly people out there - but I guess that's to be expected.
    Check out my carputers:
DVD, GPS, MP3, 6.4" LCD Touchscreen, 5" Headrest LCDs, PSone, DSSC, etc.

She'll be submitting some photos for an Antonia Bayle look-alike contest early next week and I'll be asking you guys to vote for her. Those swimsuit pics will be submitted to Wicked Weasel for their contest once she finds the time to fix the poor lighting in some of those pictures. Thanks to cbergeron for the heads-up on the Antonia contest!

News from the machine shop: The material has been ordered and will be arriving around June 1st. I'll be creating another fiber-board prototype from the newly revised drawings this weekend to verify they are correct. If I play my cards right, (I'm REALLY sucking up to the machine shop owner) we can get this masterfully done and still under $100 shipped in the U.S. There was concern that it would go over because of some of the intricacy. But the material I'm using is actually scrap from another project AND one side of my faceplates can be done at the exact same time as the other customer's faceplate. It just depends on how well built my relationship is with the machine shop owner... keep your fingers crossed!!!
