just browsed through and saw the thread. I am definetly interested in something like this. I would really be interested in just the double din replacement if you do that too.

I'll add you to the list.

Here's the latest on the faceplate status: The material has yet to arrive - it was supposed to arrive on June 1st. The second drawing have not been completed due to the machine shop's PC going down. I'm about ready to buy them a new one, myself! News as it develops.

To all monitoring this thread, I have a favor to ask. Thank you! And the latest from the machine shop is that the material has arrived. So there's a chance we just might have a prototype by the end of the week.

It was easy to vote for Teresa. I am being honest that I think she really *is* the closest match with Antonia. Most of those other girls are not even close?!?
    Good Luck!

    mk4 dash install project

I am very interested in an mk4 dash install kit. I have access to a machine shop for very cheap so if plans fall through maybe we could collaborate. I am about to start the initial steps of my project, but I am very concerned with the angle of viewing I have seen in many of the other mk4 projects. I am curious to hear about your thoughts after you installed. I understand that glare is a very large problem with these monitors... and being that our dash is set up for install at a fairly low position, I am trying to draw up a plan to angle a monitor slightly to adjust for this. I am also looking into installing this monitor 8.4 tft I have not pulled apart the dash to measure the insides... but it appears that I can make it fit. Let me know what your take on the situation is.

How much midday driving do you do?
Are you willing to pay a couple of hundred dollars to get your windows tinted?
And, do you share my patience in waiting for this solution... possibly.

I only get annoyed with glare when driving around lunch-time as the midday sun beams right down on the screen. Tinting the windows made a HUGE difference. And I'd bet jcdillin's project will eventually solve my problem. I talked to the machine shop about building in a angle and it was going to add significant cost and complication to the project. Enough cost that I would have lost buyers.

And thanks for the offer, but I think the machine shop is gonna finish this sooner than I could if I started over.
