I think I want to move my AC buttons (or make them smaller), then use the Scosche kit as the framework to integrate my screen into the dash. But this won't happen until I can figure out what to do with the radio, as I don't want to invest in a new radio.
Good to hear you're making progress. I remember talking to you in the past. I was thinking the exact same thing in regards to the Scosche kit but I'm wondering if the Metra is any better. The Schosche kit is cheaper, but I'm seeing different opinions on each kit. I currently have the Schosche kit. I think that's what it is but I can't remember. A member at TCCA commented on how a clip broke on his Schosche kit which makes me think that's what I've got since I've got one broke too. I may purchase a new kit to hack up and install the screen in. But that's some time away until I can work on it.

I am thinking about rebuilding my center console, since I don't have a console shifter, and 'connect' it to the ashtray, so I can integrate the LCD directly into the console, while looking factory and allow me to figure out a way of hiding the LCD when not in use. I took some pics a while ago in case you are interested:

Damn. That was a fast reply. Was looking at some of your other posts just a minute ago. You say you don't have a console shifter. Well, I don't either but I won the console on EBay which I'm going install and probably put the AC consoles down there along with other switches for lights and stuff. Perhaps also USB port or two and maybe even an AC outlet hooked up to its own inverter. Time to go check out some pics.

do you have pictures of the console? I would like to see how much there is to work with if I start with one of those instead of building one from scratch. Thanks!

    Here's a link to the Ebay auction. Ebay - $40 Dealer - ~$140 Junkyard - ???
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT You may want to check out Ford Parts and take a look in their OEM catalog. Seems to be a decent price but if I remember correctly it wa still like $100.

I too was thinking about building a center conole but I don't trust my overall skills to tackle such a project yet. However, if I do decide to build up the center console and up to the dash, the majority of the hard work will already be done because of this purchase. Honestly, I like the floor console better than the fold out one that you and I currently have (plus the ability to "hide" the junk is a plus (I saw you had some stuff under the armrest too ))
