I figured out that the 7" lilliput will barely fit with about 1/16" of an inch on top and below the screen. So here it is just sitting ever so sexy in my extra bezel. Little bit of my good ol' friends: JB Weld, Bondo, and Bondo Glass.

The circles on each side are for the air temp and speed, and the center hole is for the volume for the OEM HU. Since the OEM HU is going bye-bye, I most likely will fill that in and just make it bare.

Things aren't going so bad for the first attempt ever at this. My buddy (who I do most of my car work with) and I are having a great time with this after only a few hours. So far, what do you guys think?

This is some nice *** work... you've done. I've got a 03 Accord LX Sdan. I've been thinking of replacing the radio but I can't find anything to fit a double din radio. Well! The work you've done for your 7" display is pretty cool. This might be my solution. Here's the link for the product I'm trying to replace the oem radio with http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn..._35405,00.html
Can't wait to hear from you.

I'm going to (if I can remember after a long work day) post photos of my accord install tonight. I put my touchscreen into the "cubby hole" below the stock radio. I fabricated a custom face plate for the screen, so the stock cover will still move up and down to conceal the screen.

Personally, I would recommend installing a touchscreen in the lower area, and then using a car2pc adapter to connect your pc to the stock radio system. Sure it's not as good as an after-market headunit, but the ability to use the steering wheel controls without any hassle is worth something.

You guys all seem very knowledgeable about accord navigation options and I'm completely new to it.. I want to know if I can buy an OEM honda nav system and put it in my 04 EX-L accord which did NOT originally come with a nav. It seems like it should be possible, but please let me know. There are brand new 03 to 05 honda nav systems on e-bay for $399 + shipping.

I'm sure the dealerships would automatically say no since they charge $2000 extra for the models w/ nav system, and otherwise people would buy it for $400 and save a whole lot. But if it's not doable, please let me know specifically why.

    Thanks a bunch.

I think its possible, but it would be a lot of work. From the service manaual, it looks like beside the obvious components, there are gyroscopes and speed sensor integration to worry about. It seems that it has some systems in place to also keep the navigation going when signal is lost. You would also need to change the upper panel in the dash.

When I looked into it, it seemed that the carpc was the best option, plus you get all the other functions.

It is possible. There's a guy on gen7accord.com that did it. He claimed it wasn't too hard, but he got the OEM navi harness. I'll have to find his post and put up a link here.

I'd be surprised if the OEM navi used gyroscopes and speed sensor integration since most GPS systems use satellite triangulation to figure out all that gobbledygook.

I am only telling you what I remember my honda etm said, but I don't know for sure. I think the primary information source is gps, but secondarily I believe it uses these sensors when signal is lost.

Still, I'd think you could get more out of a car pc. But I think its up to the owner.

Do you guys ever have issues with your car pcs not working cause of too much vibration? How about excessive heat and humidity? Power issues for your car's battery? I really like the idea of a car pc, but it just seems like these would be real difficulties when installing a computer in your car. Do they make car pcs that are resistant to these (and probably many more potential problems that I'm not thinking of?) I mean I live in Houston and the inside of a car can easily get up to 130 degrees.
