this is not finished yet, but you get the idea.... for smaller bezels you can do the whole bezel start to finish in a matter of hours, not days & weeks....

this is the kit...... cost me around $30.... should be enough to do 2-3 average bezels depending on your skills & how much waste & on & off you do....

it can be trimmed with a razor 7-8 minutes in.... sanded in 15 minutes after applying

my answer to the question in the tittle of this thread....... because there are much easier & faster ways to do it

I'm a pro bodyman & have to deal with plastic repairs almost daily..... & since I may be doing bumpers or fenders my repairs have to be solid, strong & permanent..... if I had to do this with the solvent method on a daily basis I think I'd kill myself

I really hope this helps some here...

3m makes something similar but it's grey..... there are other products as well..... just ask your local body shop supply for urethane bumper repair....

p.s., no shrinkage at all.... sand in 15 minutes.... almost no odor.... cleans up easily with laquer thinner before cured... strong... flexable...excellent adheasion & sanding properties.... it don't get better than this.....

you could actually fabricate whole panels with this stuff... but the costs of materials will start to get up there on a large project.... my whole bezel which is huge by the way... will take around two of these setups.... a little over $50 in materials.... but the convienience & ease of use it is well worth it

    melting leggos....

Turbocad - Awesome write-up and information. Like you said when I asked you...how long would it take to do a dash. You are the bodyshop pro. I never doubted your skills. Bump! I'll definitely look into that, I'm redoing my dash with a slot load dvd drive. No more 3 day molding for me!

like I told you, for a pro a bezel should be 3-5 hours start to finish..... I guessed at $175-275 for a pro to do one for you...... as you can see it's not something you can't do yourself...... it may take an amature a little longer in the shapeing end of it, but doable
