Solvent adhesives... why don't more people use them?

Ok I just successfully bought 5' of black plastic pipe that seems to be PVC or something... when ground up and put in the Acetone, it didn't do ****. Just curious, we took a K-Nex toy and placed them in the acetone. Within seconds the water took color of the plastic of the toy. Then the pieces of plastic started stickin together... ok... so aside from k-nex toys, any one know how to accurately buy ABS plastic here in the states???

get a big box of abs regrind from a plastics supplier?

(that's what I did)

seriously, you should just go into a home depot and ask for abs pipe.

Go to lowes, home depot, or a plumbing supply, tell them you want "ABS" pipe.

I was a bit hesitant about working with bondo, and therefore hesitant about integrating the display into the dash console, but after seeing this thread, I might give it try after all. =) Great info!

Laugh your *** off, I've called local businesses, they are all vacuum manufacturers and they sell their scrap to other businesses, i called THOSE businesses and they don't sell scrap...

so...

to those people buying ABS pipes from Home Deport or lowes, state which store, and then provide us a UPC!!!
