Need help for a install in a pt cruiser

Hi, i am new and am in the process of making my carputer. I have not yet selected a monitor though but am leaning towards the TView. I need somewhere to mount a monitor though, here is a pic of the dash disassembled, it is kind of a big picture.

There is no where i can put it in the center dash because up top are vents, window switches, and i have a flip screen in the CD player location. I would either like to put it on top of the dash but i want it to look good, or i could put it above the shifter, but i do not know how i would go about fabricating it well, i have looked at all the threads and stuff but i don't know if i could do it. Any ideas?

whats underneath the radio?? if you dont need it i say just get rid of it...all the way underneath it seems you have an empty pocket...put your pioneer radio there. its low and will be concealed out of theives eyes...and use the double space you just freed up to fabricate your 7 or 8 inch monitor..good luck,,!

thats an older picture, the radio is no longer there, it is now a flip up in dash screen. and if i move down there it will be almost a pointless screen, plus i do not have enough experience to relocate the CD player. and below the CD player are the defroster and rear wipers, and soon to put some neon switches. I would like to put it below the stereo near the pocket, but in a custom bracket so that it is easy for the driver to glance at, and so that the passenger could use it to watch a movie or somthing.

why keep the flip out lcd if your going with in dash vga? another option. lose the flipout. put that pioneer back where i told you..its not too hard to relocate stuff trust me.i have that same radio..buy the rb10 aux input and your ready for sound from pc.. OR relocate the defrost switches to that small pocket underneath and go without a headunit all together and go str8 from pc to amps. if your worried about sound quality get some crossovers and a good sound card and itll be a nice setup!

or!! WHATEVER THAT WHITE PLATE IS RELOCATE IT DOWN TO THE LOWER POCKET AND KEEP UR FLIP OUT WHERE IT IS AND SWITCHES WHERE THEY ARE...THAN YOU HAVE THE WHOLE UPPER PART TO FABRICATE...TRY POSTING A PIC OF THE DASH ON???

sorry, i didn't have one. here is a pic of another person's PT cruiser, i like his mounting, but it doesnt look too professional and the the monitor is out in the open for theives to rip off, because i did read a post of some guy who left his car for 5 minutes with a screen installed just like that and his screen was gone and window broken.

I will take more pictures tommorow, here are some pictures of my pt with the screen but it does not have the whole dash pictured,

just use the flip screen. there's no point in having two screens. plus, the flip screen is easily concealed from prying eyes. You might be able to stuff your mobo in that box under the 12v power outlet, if not theres always the lockable glove box for added security.

move the black box onthe top of the dash in the center down into the space below it where the vents are. mount your existing flipup screen HU into that space and fabricate a "bump" in the dash to cover it. then just install your PC into the existing DIN slot for the the radio

in mine, i put the comp. in the glove box. it was a desktop taken apart, the mobo fits in the perfect, just needed to cut out the actual box part, and the lock still works.i relocated the HU to the top of the dash,and the defrost,etc buttons are going in a pod where the cup holders are. im moulding in a 10.4" touchscreen in the gaping hole left by all the buttons and hu.oh, to relocate the hu i had to relocate the factory keyless module to ontop of the instrument cluster. im almost compleatly done except for the screen. there are some old pics in the link in my sig, need to update them. BTW, this is my first post from the carputer.
