I LIKEY I LIKEY soon as it gets warm i will start my bondo creation : / im scared
My first attempt so be nice.
System Consists of Tview 7" Touchscreen with a Toshiba Portege Laptop running a stripped version Windows XP (A Powerful PII 300 w/ 160MB of Ram!!)
The Front End is Road Runner
The GPS Software I am using is Garmin's NRoute.
The Screen is held in place with a lot of Bondo. I sanded that down and put Flat Black textured paint on it.

not going to fill those gaps?
where is the bondo? behind the screen?
that set-up could look so extremely slick if it were filled in!

Are you refering to the gaps along the top?Originally Posted by Red GTi VR6
If yes, how do you suggest filling in such a tight area?
all of it - the top and the bottom and the sides - just flush it in and fill all the gaps - it's what bondo is used for most of the time....

The bottom can't be filled because that is two seperate pieces of the car. The OEM nav system has that gap.Originally Posted by Red GTi VR6
Not sure what I could do with the sides.
Here is a pic of the OEM system:

Looks nice!
What would look even nicer is is you'd buy a faceplate like the one from the original nav and cut/bondo your screen in. Make it more flush even.
But it already looks nice (maybe just clean it a bit and take another pic)
You're a brave guy.... Not sure I would want to have a go at a Porshe Boxter.![]()
It takes a lot longer than any of us ever imagine to get the finish that we are all looking for.
Bit more time with the filler and sander and you will have a really nice install.
