    nice nice i think that shud be a security feature

    if someone breaks into ur car and tries to hot wire it when they get it started the keyboard shud flyout with a 12inch travel actuator and knock the guy out lol

    that is really cool! oh god...now the ideas are starting to flow! i bet if you got some of those parts machined you could sell just the actuator to a bunch of people on here

    They're Technic beams. You could make your own trivially. I just happend to have them on hand for some robotics stuff.

    The movie is in quicktime, do you have it installed? You could try saving it locally and then viewing it.

    It is pretty cool
    Seems more high tech than it is. Once I refine it, and figure out easily available parts, I might make up some kits for those who don't want to hunt out all the little parts.

    What about the cord of the keyboard? Is it being held w/ a spring or something? Or is the travel so small it's unsignfigant?

    We'll see. but it's only 4 inches or so. I don't think it will be a problem.
