whats the best way to paint the dash console?

ground - paint - lack

or

paint - lack

on plastic surface

plastic primer - paint - possibly lacquer (satin PU I would suggest to try).

There are special plastic paints - look for bumper stuff etc

Primer will stick to things that paint won't - thats why you use it - it 'primes' the surface! Primer is great stuff - without it most paint jobs will be ****!

Just make sure the primer you use doesn't affect the bondo by doing a test on a sample. Best thing to do is go down your auto parts place and look at what they have available.

Duplicolor makes a good plastic primer. Called Duplicolor Adhesion promoter. Then I used auto touchup paint and clear over that when doing mine.

Thanks. It took me forever. Still learning here. I did it at least 5 times trying to get it perfect. The last wasn't the best btw, but I had to get it back in the car. I was sick of driving around with my gauges wiretied to my steering column.

I'll probably do it over this summer. I've since aquired a spare dash to make it less painful
