I could remove the ashtray and mount on there. but i'm no good at fabrication, any ideas?

Nice car. Hmm... Hard to come up with ideas for such a unique design. Assuming you want it actually fabricated into the dash?
I agree with the idea of behind the shifter, it's hard to know without seeing it in person, but it LOOKS like there would be enough room behind the shifter to put a screen without cutting up the dash or anything. You'd just have to fiberglass a "casing" around it to fill in that area and hopefully make it look more OEM.
Or, like you said, just take out the ashtray and cut out the area below it, and bondo-glass it in there, which is probably what I'd do.
How much do you like those center airvents? Might be able to take those out, and remove the stereo, then cut the "bar" between the two and fit the screen there.
Is that left part of the stereo single din? If so, and you don't mind it not really being in the dash, might be able to get something like this:

I removed the ashtray and had my neighbour (who owns a carbon-/glassfibre factory) make a frame for the lilli. The screen is a bit too low, though, and I might remove the OBC, CD and move the vent controls to where the screen is placed now and put the touchscreen a bit further up.Originally Posted by kadeswift
