High Temperatue Resin?

Any ideas which epoxy resin has qualitys for using in high temperature applictaions, 100-150 C.
For use with carbon fiber!
Thought is was Sp systems ampred 22 but cant remember. :confused:

no idea on high temp epoxy?

I think you should do some reading on high temp epoxies. What are you intending to use it for? Do you have the equipment to cure it and are you willing to pay the price for it?

I`ll do some research, but i`m hoping to get a job building CF race boats so facilities wont be an issue,
if i dont tehn vinylester it will be.

I used to use a company calle ciba-geigy. they were extensively involved in marine composites but i think they ceased trading a few years ago. Ciba were based down in southampton i think - on near the water anyway! I used to have all the catologues about 10 years ago when I raced cars and i remmember high temp resins as well as the fire retardent ones etc. I thinkt he highest temp ones are phenolic not epoxy. But you can get epoxy resisns that take higher temps than normal before losing strength.

As you cas see they hold the rights to the araldite brand (the proper structural adhesive which comes in big pots)

It is a phenol epoxy (my memory was right about the phenolic resins) and is designed for use at elevated temps.

seems like they were local,

I used carbon-fiber tuned pipes on my race boats so the resin exists.

You could give GKN a ring in the isle of white. they will have a supplier. (they do all the airbus composites there)
