Anyone do a stock looking install in a 2nd gen ram? (say 96-2001ish)

Ive recently picked up a 1999 ram 2500, extended cab.

I dont have any pics up now, but im sure ebay has a million..

What im thinking of doing is a micro atx system under the seat, with a custom dash bezel made to allow a 7" Xenarc touch screen, a DIN size alpine deck, and a slot load dvd rom to fit in the dash vertically where the stock radio and A/C vents are. I dont want to lose the vents, so ill find a way to move them slightly to the right, where the dash pocket and airbag key on/off switch is.

For control, I have an IRMan from my old mp3 setup (3+ years ago), that ill reuse, along with the touchscreen, and ill probably build a keyboard onto the back of the center console/seat like one of the other members did with his 1996 dodge ram 1500 (im planning on having it fold out over my lap though instead of built in.

here is a bezel on ebay. Im going to purchase this one for practice before cutting up mine.

Pretty much where the stock stereo is, theres 2 vents right above that. I want to put an alpine din deck at the bottom of the stock location, a slot load dvdrom right above it, then the 7" Xenarc above the dvdrom (a/c vents need to be relocated)

As you can see in the pic, the far right has those two openings. The bottom is a "dash pocket", and the top one is for the airbag switch. I was thinking of finding a way to put those a/c vents in that location, at least one of them. That way i dont lose the a/c vent in the middle of the vehicle.

    .. any other ideas?

Skip the vent relocating. It is too much hassle to chop up the duct, and reducting the air behind the dash takes up too much space. A little more air will come out the side vents with the center one blocked off and its fine for me.

I removed dash vent in my car for a boost gauge and hated it ever since... I must keep at least one dash vent per side! I dont think itd be that hard, a little plastic jbweld and some creativity

Im actually leaning towards a touch screen only, with no deck... The only thing im not liking about that, is easy volume control.... but i suppose thats what i can use my IRMan remote for... but i like the knobs
