    BMW mp323i (e46) Dash re-do

I got tired of my 'rushed' job on my dash piece so I decided to redo it last weekend. It's a lot better, but I dont think I'm 100% happy with it.

Original Test of Fit (May 04)

Start of Fabrication (used original dash piece as frame - May 04)

Buttons in place and all sides are 'there'

The whole piece out of the car

Painted and in the car. Notice the imperfections?

Out of the car to get a layer of Polyurethane (amazingly looks good too!)

Should never have put that polyurethane on it. Too glossy!

Back in the car - really note the imperfections (July 04)

    THE NEW STUFF

Filled in the "dips" to the buttons and some imperfections and actually used primer this time!

More bumps and dips to fill and sand

    Getting there!

    All sanded

    Lookin smooth!

Painted with texture paint and back in the car (note the crack already!)

Wish the black matched the HVAC and CD Player, but it's close.

I'm not happy about how I have a few small imperfections in it, how the black doesn't looks EXACTLY like the BMW Plastic black (can it ever though?), and the damn crack in the bottom right .. guess it's a tight squeeze...

    Thoughts? Opinions? Praise?

If you're in 1st, 4rd or 5th it's in front of the screen, but it never blocks the screen at all -- it's pretty easy to touch everything (sounds dirty) and has never been a problem.

It's a texture paint i picked up at Home Depot haha.... I wanted to get some of that SEM texture paint I've heard so many good things about, but couldn't find it anywhere locally...
