Porsche Fabrication just started

I have a Porsche as well, but mine is a 986 Boxster. It has a similar dash to yours so i'm very interested to see how you go. I purchased a spare dash piece just like yours. It's currently getting refinished in satin aluminum. When it gets back I will think of putting a 7" Xenarc in. I'm not a adventurous as you

It looks like you will be losing your cigarette lighter, intermittent wiper speed control, door lock switch, rear demister switch, and cupholders! I suppose you could move the door lock switch and rear demister switch to the tunnel console - there are a couple of blank spots there for heated seats (which my car does not have)?

the only thing I am losing is the cigeratte lighter which I dont mind other than that everything will still work I hate the cupholder anyway the other switches are blanks so they will not do anything anyway maybe later I can use a few for shortcuts using girder or something. My heated seats are on near the shifter so no loss there I took my cd holder and installed a dvdr slot drive there so it looks factory I will try to take some shots later today to post but the piece is looking decent right now.

Well here where I am at now let me know what you guys think all the texture match exactly I dont know how it happened but it did so I am so happy. anyway I also include a pic of the dvdr installed in the cd holder but i think I am going to make a face for it still dunno what do you guys think. I finally bought a pc for the car its a p3 1.2ghz 200gb drive 512mb of ram I think it should be fine.

You could put the DVD there, but, since you drive a Porsche, everything needs to be perfect, so i'd say, mold the DVD face into the little panel (where you currently hold the DVD), that was in the bigger panel (the one in the second pic).

It looks good the way you put it there.

Ive got at least 4 hours into the face and 1/2 into the drive part of it

Tell me about it, I'm worked on mine for 2 weeks...

You could leave the drive in that small panel, looks good!

I am also very interested in this fabrication for my Boxster. I am thinking about an 8" screen but hoping to keep both sets of buttons working.

I would leave the drive in the panel to keep the stock appearance. Do the CD trays still work that are left? I may have to do the same thing for mine because I think the match is as perfect as these things can get.
