Mod controls to Dash

I was wondering if anyone has one of these keyboards

Because i Would like to mod the controls to my dash like this

but I am worried the multimedia controls are part of the keyboard matrix thingy, that the keys are all connected to.
So I dont want to buy one of these keyboards unless I can see what it looks like inside, so I can tell how easy it is to install to my dash.
Also has anyone elsem odified the multiemdia elemnts of a keyboard to their dash ? if so what keyboards have you used ?

Why worry about that, just connect them to a joystick and use girder to control what ever it is you want.

I wanted to do this as well and that's a good idea. Just use the buttons from that keyboard for looks and the joystick for the interface and contacts.
