Ok I have reviewed several postings on this site etc. and I have even removed my radio, ac controls and moved the controls to right above the ash tray. Now I purchased a Xenarc 700TS and I noticed it is like .25 inches to tall in its original case. Is everyone taking it out and then mounting it to the back of their new plate like the guy did from http://www.mybimmer.net/
Attached is a screen shot of his controls down low and the lcd mounted. There is a second pciture of the back side of the bezel where it looks like he cuts the orginal bottom off of the case and fiberglasses around it (not my desired result incase I ever want to use the lcd for antoher project or sell it).

Yes, you have to take the Xenarc out of the casing to mount it. You can see that the Xenarc is too tall to fit in the hole in the dash with the casing attached. When I made my bezel I had to chop the bottom off just like Rich (mybimmer.net) did.
Yea I figured that. I think I am going to try to make it without using the original case. I will post my progress.
Yes, you can't use the back cover.
