I just noticed that the tmz bezel has an option for "black anodized" when you order. What's that look like? Is it glossy? matte? Would it match the VW dash well?
which golf do you have?

I dont have it yet, a buddy of mine is doing the work so he had to take my drawing, put it into CAD, then find a piece of alum. big enough and then get free machine time. I think it might be done now (since Ive been on vacation and havent talked with him yet).
Ill keep this thread updated.

My cousin does CAD work for a living, he drew me a dxf based on the image from the top of the thread. I hosted it here at my yahoo briefcase, they don't do direct linking but it's right at the top level folder.

He and I (mostly I) have a couple of questions:
- How does this fasten? There aren't any mounting holes. I expect they would be on the tabs
- Is this a made on a 3D mill machine out of a solid block?

the two protruding tabs will fit into the existing holes on the radio cage. This should snug it in just fine, but if its still loose just put a piece of velcro on the back of the bezel and on the radio cage.Originally Posted by kbyrd
No idea, the guy making mine is doing it out of a solid block of t6 alum, but Im don't know what machine he is using to do it.Originally Posted by kbyrd
Hope that helps.

Make sure the whole chasis clear the back walls of your car. I've an Integra and the chasis's measurement won't fit inside my wall. LoL.
It doesn't fit my GTI either. But I was able to cut off the back inch or so with a hacksaw and it fits now. If only I had a working LCD to mount in it.Originally Posted by john94587

I'm a klutz, but not that bad. It arrived DOA. Well not quite dead. It displayed a VGA signal, the touch screen worked, but only the power button on the front bezel worked. The remote didn't work at all. I couldn't enter the code to program auto-on mode or bring up the OSD menu or anything. I'm supposed to be RMA'ing it but I haven't heard back from the seller (someone from Amazon's zShops thing).Originally Posted by WebDog
