How to cover the vents

Mounting the screan in dash meant I had to give up the central vents. Now the question is how do I cover the remaining vents behind the screen? I don't want dust to come in there...

I had to do this on my Jeep, what i did was cut the vent off (you may not have to do this) and cut away any of the remaining ductwork to fit the screen in, and then use duct tape. I first took a few strips and with the adhesive side toward me, stuck them on the inside of the vent in the shape i needed. Repeat with other strips to cover most of the vent (i had a big vent so i needed like 5 strips) Then take the tape, with the sticky side pointing away, cover all the holes and sticky tape from before. This makes a nice sturdy, durable, vent cover.

Oh, make sure you clean the area that the duct tape needs to stick to.

i left my vents for cooling i never use my heater lol

Cut a piece of soft foam to stuff in there. Tape will turn to crap after a while.

Much better this way. I don't trust the duct tape.
I was actualy thinking of leaving them open for the screen to cool down a bit, but I'm worried about dust comming in, as I rarely use the AC...

put a filter over it cut a piece of screen door material and use a few small screws and screw it in

Haha, well I had to cover mine because here in Maine we use the heater more often than AC so I would probably melt my screen! But Altimat is probably right with the foam part, its a more permanent solution. I just figured that if duct tape didn't work I could try something else. Plus the duct that went to the vent I needed to block also went to another vent on the other side of the vehicle, so I needed to make sure that it wasn't blocked off completely.

Well, since I'm going on a little road trip with the car, I'm going to leave them uncovered for now due to the fact there is no time to cover them, and see how they work with the AC off, and maybe cover them in the winter...

Stuff the hole with elephant poop!

Bit of dense foam backed up with duct tape over the top would be my suggestion.

Although I find that my open duct is handy for keeeping ice-creams frozen when you stand them up in the duct and wack the AC on full. Of course I dont have a screen in the gap at the moment so might have to build a flip out screen so i can get to my ice-creams
