    Getting closer (Recessed screen)

It's been a lot of work. Next time I do it I will definately put more into the prep and get everything together nicely so there is less bondo/sanding work.

    And how it fits in:

A shot of the depth of the mount:

It was in my car for a while and is actually quite comfortable. Now I finally have the time to make it looks nice though.

Having all the buttons still right there is nice too.

The viewing angle is actually really good. It is facing straight back, in regards to tilting it left or right. It sits pretty low, and tilts up a little bit though. I've had in in my car for a couple months now and haven't had any problems viewing (except for the glare). Recessing it doesn't solve all the glare problems, but does help significantly in my oppinion.

The depth is actually a little decieving. If you look at the first picture, you can see a bump where the original bezel was for the stock radio. I just extended everything back evenly, about 1.5 inches I believe.

Hopefully I can get it finished up soon, I'm anxious now, and it seems to be going well.

Unsane, that looks hot. I can't wait to redo my screen faceplate. I was going to see how much I could recess it also.

Good luck with it. My advice would be to follow what the sticky says, and make sure that you do good work on the wood frame, I sort of half assed it and am paying for it now. Also, check for clearance before everything goes back into the car. The bottom of mine has cracked twice because of how it sits on the inner lip of the dash.
