I want to use the stuff that Altimat used:
    Alternative to Fiberglass

    Does that make any sense?
    ???????

@Derbis - What is the dimension on the opening of that bezel? (for the nav unit)

Put the HU faceplate in the visor and the box in your glove compartment or under the dash. I dont see where the HU is needed besides Radio, and maybe CD's, but other than that you computer should really do the rest.

If you must keep a radio, buy one with a detachable faceplate. Remote mount the faceplate somewhere on the dash ( i.e. -- little cubby whole by cigarette lighter), then keep the actual HU under the seat. I donít know if a radio is *really* needed when you can have thousands upon thousand of MP3sÖ

Oh, look.... Tons of room back there.

Wow, you think you donít have any room? Try finding room in WJ Grand Cherokee. I wish I had HALF the room youíve got there.

BTW, in case you didnít know www.WKJeeps.com (Excellent recourse for your jeep)

Damnit. I think my master plan just changed.

    ...maybe not. HU-less is cleaner.

    ...maybe...

    Getting really annoyed

I bought a Xenarc casing from this site to try out and make the trim piece that i want for my jeep. I spend at least 3 hours a day on this site (mostly when im working) reading on how people did their fab work an i do ask what you experienced people know, and so far everything fails, except the epoxy that altimat used (that turned at pretty nice for the small amount that i played with). ive read the how to's and the threads that are sticky'ed. im about to give up and pay some $$$ for the work.

i wanted to make a mold of lcd bezel so that i could custom create the over head console to house one of my lcds. and most of what i read said to use great stuff and cover the bezel with it, but first coating the bezel with pam or something similar. so i did that. i coated heavy with pam, and sprayed the foam around to get a mold. well i let it dry for 2 hours and when i went to pry it off, it came off, but it was goo-ed onto the casing i bought. im using paint thinner to remove it, or i thought, no such luck because i wasnt thinking when i grab it, and it was acetone and it just ate the plastic case.....$25 dollars wasted. so back to stage 1.

How can i make a custom overhead console using the epoxy that will fit to the contour of my roof? well i got the contour with a contour guide. :sigh:
