Why not make the I/O ports like a normal case where you put the insert that came with the mobo in. The way you did it looks nicer, but the insert way would give more people the option of using your case.

love the case and i have a great idea for it, it wont be that durable but if u cut out a window on the top where the logo is, put somekind of glass/plastic as cover and add that logo on top it will look great, but to really enhance the look people can put neon in there and its gona look sick dude.. anyway good luck on the case and ill think about the group buy i might get in too![]()
I actually did that on my first prototype but it was too weak I.M.O. Check the first few pages there is pics of it. Eskalad bought the case that was like that and he was very happy with it. I like the look of the machined I/O ports, its gives the install a very custom look.Originally Posted by DOHCrazy

I agree with the I/O ports, it would just be more cost effective and group buy effective if any mobo could be used. Its up to you, if we can do a groupbuy with different motherboards then who caresOriginally Posted by blk02si

5" long. 5-1/4" with the connector that sticks out of one end. We would also need room to connect things, so Ide put this length on the longer part.
4" Wide - Nothing on these sides, so they can be cramped.
2-5/8" Tall.

This way you could keep the cost of the cases lower and, make the backplates, maybe reusing leftovers from the cases, just for ppl who wants them.

Well if we can got one more person to jump onto the bandwagon I could start a first batch of 5 cases. I like the idea about the I/O plates being the same material but removable. Would def. make things easier. But for now I think I am just going to do the machined I/O posts for you lucky first time buyers. (The squares on the table are 1" square.)
sounds great to me. someone else jump on...

This may end up being a half inch to big for my console.
Can you get us some final dimensions?
Ive got 8" wide to work with, the board is 6.6xx".
Are the mounting feet removable? Hopefully so, if they are, I wont use them and should be able to get it to slide into my narrow console slot. I could just use padded double sided tape. Link to console for reference:
