Thread: need ideas... making grand prix ashtray into a techscreen slide/flip

Anyone made anything flip down in their car ever? i was wondering if anyoen had any expirience in making a touch screen manual, just pull out, and it lays down in place..... like on a slide type dealy?

i would like to replace the area where my ashtray is... and make it into a conceiled spot to put a touch screen panel... im going for the entirely stock look to the car.... i dont want it to look aftermarket really.... i dont exactly park in the most wealthy areas so to say.... so some ideas would be nice on what to do with that...

i would like to be able to hook my laptop up to it... by using a docking station or somthing with a power source... so i can scroll through mp3's and movies.... and have them at my fingertips... i think i can only use a 6 1/2 inch or a 7 inch display in there depending on how the screen is going to flip out... if the brackets are coming with it... or if they are going to be made out of slides that the lcd slides out of with a hinge remaining inside to hold the screen....

if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome....
