Yes,i'll take one, just tell me how much and your paypal address.I'll send the payment right away.I've been doing alot of research and your solution is the best. The only thing i might not like about taking this project on is losing the radio.I might try to relocate it in the center console"if it fits" .I hear alot of horror stories about reception. Also, did u ever install a dvd drive in your stang.

    self storing LCD

hi, great project i have a 06 mustang and will do the same installation that you , with 2 diferences
    1) i will use a mac mini behind the dash and lcd and
    2) the LCD will self-store inside the same dash just above the mac mini ,
the lifting of the lcd will be manual for now and will work on getting
a motor or something to pull it up. will be posting pics soon

    congratulations on a great work.

    Phenomenal install. I love it.

I assume that chassis is probably extremely similar to the DD opening on an '04 F150?

Fullwood, This is an exact drop in for an 04 f150. Even the metra part # is the same kit as the f150.

Nano, I like the idea of the folding screen and the mac route. Be sure to post up some pics of your install, im quite curious to see what you are up to.

Here is a few pics of a chassis I just made with a 3.5" harddrive mount specific for the mustang.

I'm looking forward to seeing your integration on the shaker system. Your chassis is ready and cafefully packaged josh, will be hitting the fedex tomorrow.

On another note, I have joined the linuxICE project to see how far the distro can go. It will take a hell of a 'nix distro to make me scrap my XPE build but you never know, linux is open source so more can be done if the development is there.

    Hello wniemcow,

I did not get any emails from you in either of my accounts. Resend them if possible.

I decided im going to put my new digital camera to work and get some prime footage of the system running in the car. Im waiting untill its a little darker out so the footage will be clear and not washed out by the bright sun. Check back soon for the vid!

Wow, awesome job with the mod and write-up to give us all the ideas!

Just finished reading the entire thread, WHEW, and I have a few questions:

Did you decide to go with a larger flash card, to keep your Nav maps on there? Or did you opt to put them on DVD or back on the original HD?

Your USB and ethernet cables you have running to the center console, are those just long patch cables, that plug into the back of the MB? The connection of the LCD to the MB, I thought that is hard wired to the MB from the pics, as opposed to plugged into the VGA on the back of the MB, but I thought I'd double check with you. Do you have a wiring diagram of your system?

Also, did you finish your volume knob and front USB? Any pics?

Sorry for all the questions, I really like your setup, and will probably be ordering one of your mounting brackets, if you are still up to doing them.

    Thanks for the great info!

    Kyle
