Here is the wiring I described earlier.
When I was going through the thought process of building for some reason I always wanted to know what the back of the shaker 500 looked like so maybe some of you want the same thing........well here you go. I also attached the harness just to give people an actual picture of what you will be hooking your power supply and speakers up to if you're not going to be using a head unit.
Here is the wiring I described earlier.
Ok finally I am done posting pictures......this is the last of the wiring. Hope this was informative to those that are thinking about doing something similar. I will post the final pictures when I am done.
Looking great Greg! Thanks for posting up the pictures, my mustang has looked like that a few times! Make sure to post some of the finished product. I also like how you mounted the hard drive over the M2 like that, everything looks really good. How did the embedded OS turn out?

Hey how's it going Joe? The embedded OS was going great I had it booting up and was just fine tuning everything since I had added the Sirius Satellite. Right now I have a 60GB hard drive booting up and it's what I use to install all of my software or any other changes I make to the system and then I just copy it to the flash card. But there was one time that I did a format on the flash card instead of just deleting the files (like I normally do) and then tried copying the files onto it and every since then the flash card won't boot. I've tried everything it seems like but I just can't get it to boot anymore. I was about to give up and just buy a disk on module like I wanted to from the begining because I would assume they are easier to deal with (probably more like a true hard drive). I thought using the Acronis Partition Manager would solve my problems because it claims to make a drive "OS" ready but still no luck. Let me know if you have any suggestions and if you're curious I am getting the normal "ntldr error" or whatever it says. I will post more pictures as I go this week. I hope I didn't post too many......lol.....the main reason I took so many was because I wish I would have had something like that to help me along the way.
Everything is going good! Just installed my new LCD HDTV on my living room wall. The stang is running strong but my wife dropped something on the hood and put a few scratches in it so I need to get it fixed now lol. Other than that all is well, just been working a lot and keeping up on my night classes.
The PC needs to see the flash drive as bootable, if you formatted it then the boot sector got blown out. You will need to run a boot prep to flag the drive bootable. Here is a small app that will format your flash bootable again. Unzip then you need to run it from the command prompt. CD to the flash drive letter then execute.

Hey thanks for the information I'll try this as soon as I get home today. I hope I have enough time to get it installed tonight. So did you go with the Sony LCD HDTV?
Joe,
Just finished reading the entire thread tonight...NICE. I was waiting for a pre-made double din set up but now I think I want to tackle a system like yours. Have you ever made a chasis for a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited? I'll get the dimensions info tomorrow (6 hours of reading tonight...I'm ready to crash)
Thanks for your dedication to perfection!!

Hello Taz, I can bend the chassis to any dimensions you require. I've learned the best way to do it is measure the OEM radio and start working from there.
As you all know I sold my HQCT am/fm module a few months ago so I've been tuner less, but I've got good news. I am waiting on my new HD radio hardware to get here and will be adding it to my setup. I will document as I go and post progress here. This HD tuner is supposed to give near CD quality FM + you can tune all the station sub channels. I also bought a special cable from mitch on this site that interfaces with the HD controller via the serial port. Stay Tuned for pics, progress and a HD menu for my RR skin.
