    Hey Minoritydan,

    Glad to see you back in action! Sorry to hear about your luck. I do remember our conversation and was looking back at our PM's. I am still building the first production machine but can get you a chassis right away. I'm holding off on building any more at the moment because I have the new production machine + TxAxZxZ has hired me to do his build so I will be occupied with those for awhile.

    No problem. I'm still not quite sure If I want to go with the chassis and build it myself or get a production machine/hire you to build one. I'll probably work on replacing all the speakers in my car for the time being and in a couple weeks get back to see how you're doing with your current workload.

    Hey Xargon,

    No I did not try the short cable yet- I sourced the connectors to do the job but looked at a few pinouts of the LCD controller but there was conflicting diagrams and some of the pins were unknowns. So I didn't want to take the chance of burning up my controller to try it out. Hopefully, as these newer LED monitors come out more information will be available on the connector pinout.

    I dont want to steer the thread into a diffrent way, but Im curious as to how i can find a company that does the stuff you do (making custom brackets for the PC). After changing my setup so many times I have finally decided to put the PC in between my seats in the second row and build a center console. The middle row has this metal frame so I have to incorporate it into my build. I dont know how to use autoCAD, even though I do have it on my WorkStation.

    From what I have been reading, if i do learn autoCAD, all I do is make a 3D PC version of the object and then I put that into the cutting machine and it makes it for me? Is this currect?

    @HiJack

    I own a company that does the stuff I do I've got some connections near miami that do stainless steel fab work also.

    Its slightly more complicated than just design, hit print, and you have a part. Designs need to be compiled into CNC tool path code, either by human or my computer so the machine knows what to do. The first step is learning how to design in 3d IMHO.

    The picture above is not of a part I made, it's a scale drawing of the Metra Trim kit 95-6511 for Chrysler cars. I want to have the entire model in autoCAD since the car is not actually on location and I'm using the OEM radio and OEM dash trim to design it. The purpose of measuring and modeling this part in autoCAD is more for assembly reasons.

    OK, now I understand......

    Here are some pictures of the area. It shouldnt be too hard to make something because a frame is kinda there. Id rather incorporate the frame into my design, since its part of the frame for stability. I think it will work, but since you do this for a living, what do you think?

    Wow it's been so long since I've posted. Joe you have been very busy and staying ahead of the game man! How is that 8GB drive working out for you? I will have to read previous post to see how much it cost and if it's what you expected.

    The most recent upgrade I've made to the system was a new Logitech Dinovo Mini input device.

    Look forward to talking to some of the folks working on builds now and getting some new ideas for this ongoing hobby.

    Err - I think you'll have to get in line on that one. I think Joe mentioned the notion of building production systems, but I'm not sure if there is a final price for everything yet, or if its even definitely going to happen.

    Anyway, Joe, If you have any updates, let us know. I'm in the process of replacing all my speakers, installing an amp etc in my car. Soon I'm going to pick out a motherboard and the other components for my PC. I'm still trying to narrow down my Motherboard selection.
