    ML320 project

After a couple of years thinking of a car PC I started finnally to build my system. This will be installed in a Mercedes ML 320

First of all I collected all the parts needed (most of them are second hand) , after that I started to build the case.

This is a simple home made case, nothing fansy about it.
I will post some pictures think that will say more then words.

Temporary installation just to get XP in my Harddrive:

and finnaly after 1,5 hours (doesnt go fast if you DVD player is attached by a 1.1 USB cable )

Builded all together in my new case :

PCI riser for wifi and 4.1 soundcard

    Power cables

    HD mounted

After I finish with the case it whas time to think about the monitor mounting.
So I ask a friend of my to make one from alu.

Next step, painting it black and mounting the screen

After I finish this job I installed the monitor just to see if it looks like it whas deliverd by Mercedes

Well thats all for now, hope you like it. I just love it

Next thing to do is get Frodoplayer to run, using the Skin that I get from Mañana (thanks for that)

    Hardware used:

    Via Epia V8000
    512MB Sdram
    40GB 4200 HD
    4.1 soundcard
    54Mbit wifi card
    7" touchscreen
    M1-ATX power supply

Things to get in the future are:
GPS (I already have a Blaupunkt system , but It's just to slow)
USB Radio (car PC will be connected directlly to the amp.)
    Gods right foot!!

    I am impressed

I have been creating monitor templates for days now and I JUST decided to see if there was someone with a Dual Din like my ML and here you are. I have purchased an extra faceplate just recently on ebay and fitted all my mounting to it. The only problem I have been having is with heating. We have all that insulation behind our Dins I was afraid my lilliput would overheat. How is your monitor holding up?

The Parrot was already installed (on a standaard Mercedes Mobil ophone holder) when I bought the car.
I just love BT. Never get the phone out of my pocket.
Only problem is that I'can't see who is calling me (if It's someone from my phonebook I hear the name, )

    About the heatproblem gsj224.
I hav e no idea , monitor is not installed yet.But I don't think is gonna be any problem, as there is enough room on the back

that is amazing. if I sat in your car, I wouldnt think twice about it being factory. you and your friend should start producing that aluminum piece.
