I currently have a CarPC installed on my passenger side of my car, and I need to do something to spice it up a bit because it just looks to bland over there. After seeing the following links they have provided me with enough motivation to go through with the idea.

I'm going to run with it and try and make it happen. The shell I plan on using is the following:

With the dimensions of: Length - 9" (228mm) Width - 4" (101mm) and Height - 2-3/4" (70mm) it can work with little modification to the actual shell. However, would the components inside ever get hot enough to melt the plastic? The only difficulty I see with such a project is the mounting of the components, so that a bumpy ride won't damange them. Any help, opinions, insults are appreciated

it will really depend on the cpu. If you run a VIA C3 the components won't get hot enough to melt the plastic.

I used to be into nitro rc cars. The shells can be millimeters away from 300 degree fahrenheit heat sinks. So heat will not be a problem.
those bodys can take alot of heat but u still might want to throw in a small fan just to be on the safe side
