get some 1/8" abs and bond it to the monitor (abs sludge method) to extend the sides of that case. sand, paint and you'll be good to go.
Ok.. I'm very very very new to fabricating/fiberglass and all that so I dont even know how and what I should do to these gaps... any suggestions? some will probably tell me that it's fine the way it is, but I have a feeling it will bother me if I dont do it right![]()
The tC comes with a cover that closes and hides the original HU but this screen is so big, to avoid taking it apart, I had to take off the cover and I still like it..
but my problem is like I said, are those gaps on the sides.. what should I use to integrate the monitor to that (by the way, the material is plastic around the monitor)
thanks

1/8" abs? What are abs? Yesterday I picked up this huge can of Bondo Glass but I dunno if that's what you ment..
Thanks

ABS = Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene = Plastic
I buy my stuff from here.
Some liquid plastic, an ABS sheet, time and patience should be all you need.
They don't sell the last two unfortunatly.
yeah, that fits almost perfert. The work involved with that shouldnt take that long and since its so small, any imperfection would not be too visible.
btw, whats the size of the screen? I dont think the 7in is that big even for a xernac. i believe the xenarc and the lilliput are about the same size.
you setup will be cool, but you will be missing out on the best part of the tc men, the cover.
anyways, keep us posted on your progress
I'd fill it with Duramix 4040 and after it dries, fill with bondo to smooth and sand

Anyway, I was looking at the cover some some time and I figured that If I cut the black plastic frame I *might* be able to put the cover but if I do that, then I wont be able to go with the custom fabrication so I I will have to try things and see witch one looks better... they both have their advantages so we'll see
and Cyberphox, thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider that too

www.mcmaster-carr.com has 1/8" thick abs sheets and they are amazing to deal with. really quick shipping too.
bondo has a tendancy to crach when stressed if you follow the abs sludge method it will actually 'weld' the plastics together and you cant crack them apart.
check out the how to post on solvent adhesives and you'll get great results.

id either fill it with polyester putty or a bumper repair material. Everybody uses bondo to fill in gaps in plastic but over time it will crack. The bondo hair is better, but still not even made for plastic, or even over paint at all!
Well I was reading here and there and I head "Bondo Glass" supposedly does not crack or does not crack easily so that's what i got... scott FX, thanks for the link.. but it appears not working (at least right now).. I'll check it out later
