    What should I do?

Hey guys whats up, I am going to be molding my headunit down below where my ash tray is and cig lighter. I have a pic of someone who actually molded there HU there. They took an aftermarket HU installation kit and molded it it.

Now my question is, How should I go about molding the installing kit in? Should I use bondo? I have never fabricated anything before....Sp what are the steps to take? Basically just bondo it and then sand? The prime then paint? What type of stuff is good? And where should I go to get it?

Unfortunately, someone asks the same thing just about every other day in here. You'll have a hard time getting any answers unless you do some research and ask specific questions. All the answers you need are in this forum, so I'd recommend you start looking through the threads or do some searching.

As far as your question goes, just bondo is a bad idea. If you want it to last, you'll need something more structural like ABS goo or epoxy or even fiberglass for larger openings. A good place to start off your research would be here.

EDIT: I see you're not a newb to the site...shame shame

I would not use bondo to build the structure. I used Bondo Fiberglass resin and it turned out very nice. I built the frame and used some foam from a craft store (the hard foam not the packing type). It is rock solid and I am happy with how it is turning out. Look at my Durango install in my sig.

Did you read that thread at all?

You don't buy it, you make it. The basic recipe is.. ABS plastic shavings and Acetone.
