That looks sweet! It looks like it was meant to be there.
Here are pics of the custom center console I built while attending Mobile Dynamics. This goes in my 1987 Ford F-150. As you can see I have my 8" touchscreen mounted in ti as well as a blank plate for usb ports, slimline drive, etc.
The motherboard, HDD, and power supply will al be housed in this console as well.
Thank you, that is what I was shooting for. I started by mocking the whole thing up in cardboard and then went to a combination of 1/4" and 1/2" MDF. I went to the local upholstery shop and found carpet and vinyl which was a very close match to what is in the truck. The carpet and vinyl only cost $20 total. My school provided the MDF.
The whole project took about 2 1/12 days to complete. I think it came out pretty good for my first project.
looks good man really good job wrappin the vinyl on the console
Thank you. Lots of contact cement, a little patience, and very careful work with the heat gun. The curves around the cupholders were pretty easy but those corners were killer!Originally Posted by xdjxklusivex
Then of course the carpeting gave it all a nice clean edge.
