MKIV Volkswagen 7" bezel

i am thinking the same about the dvd drive. if you go to a junk yard, you can get a black faceplate that fits in the cup holder slot. I guess some golf's come without cup holders so theres just a little plastic plate there. It would be perfect to integrate the cd drive's bezel onto. It also clips nice and sturdy.

i dunno how the us models are but here in the UK the cup holders in the front are standard on all cars, maybe an ideal way could be is if you remove the holders fingers and hope a slim dvd drive will fit into the gap and also disablling the flap on the holder prob by gluing it into place. might work... might not...

you can also get a spare one, i went to the dealer and that piece is only $12

the problem is that you cant fit a slim drive in there as the back gets to small. unless you perminatly modify the radio cage.

I am still working on getting quotes for the bezel..

there is really no big downside to modifying the bezel inside the top part.. structurally the part you have to cut out doesnt do much of anything

yea i know i just cant see modifying that for a cdrom i would much rather have it in the glove box.

Now I'm a total noob, but i'm looking to get into the CarPuter scene [mac, actually] -- But are you simply selling the piece that covers the lilliput screen?

I decided that i will go the CAD route and just did the design today.
I got a quote for $175 each with a 10 day turn around and 10 bezels made.
I am also waiting on more quotes today and tomorrow, and expect the price to come down.

yea and lets you snap it into a VW MKIV

it's the bezel feeler gonna work with vw passat 98 to 2001?

I recommend you to make a list of the vw that it will fit and the years.

I sent a email to my friend with a passat seeing if i can test fit it this weekend. so i might know more in a few days.

But as long as it has a double din and its MKIV it should work.
