I actually started building my own last night. With the exception of paint it should be done tonight. I'll post a log when I'm done with it. It's actually really easy to do.

I'm going to order the "master" later this week (just need to verify some dimensions first) and should have it in a week or two, then i need to test fit and make sure the design is correct.

Then i will open presales so i have a idea of how many bezels to get reproduced...

You are my hero for doing this. I was hesitant about making a carputer because of the fitment of the screen into the dash. Then I stumbled upon this thread, and I couldn't of found a more perfect solution. It looks like the screen came in the car like that stock. Way to go.

Open presales before you get them reproduced. That would be the point of a presale. It would fund the preproduction.

i still need to verify some measurements before i send the ok to get the master made. i plan to give the go ahead before the end of the week.
My computer crashed a few weeks ago so getting back to normal has taken me longer then i would like...
