looks nice so far. I dont think that anything short of a tank could hurt it either.

Here it is installed, with the new hinge and stop complete, and the inside felted to keep everything scratch free.

In the last picture, you can see the little red switch I'm using to turn the computer on now. That will be located to the back of the OHC, along other various switches.

It's definitly not going to stay like that.

When I started the project, I was thinking about painting it (probably black).

But right now I'm thinking of covering it with vinyl or something similar, except for the back (just after the glasses door) where I want to put the switches...I was thinking of putting a piece of chrome diamond plate there.

My only problem now is finding out where I can buy vinyl, and pricing out how much it would be for someone to put the vinyl on. I've never worked with vinyl or fabric before, and I think a piece like this would probably come out best if done by someone that has done car interiors before.

Another option is to polish the hell out of it. Until it basically looks like it was chromed with no scratches or anything. Obviously this will take alot of time. I'm not too sure something like that would go too well in my truck though (as I have no other chrome pieces). And, the refelection on a sunny day could be very distracting..
