you can still do an automatic.....
MY NEWEST INSTALL:modded infiniti fx with big screen
first windows carpc install........my liquid cooled LVDS screen :D
Short shifter's are actually pretty useful on an automatic. Just gotta find one. As for your bezel cracking, reinforcing it should work fine.
Well, I finally got my DVD slot load uj-845 for $74 on ebay which is a great price for a DVDR so I will be back to my bezel this week. (will have more pics up this week)
Dad helped me fabricate a custom box for my carpc which will go in the trunk but I still have to carpet the box and make sure there are proper grounding.
(will have pics of this up soon)
I started playin around with boot screens for windows xp and decided to make my own. Its pretty basic but it looks good when the carpc starts up.
Here is a pic of the boot screen: (for legality reasons I'm makin my carpc boot right into the navigation. I'm always crossing the border to go into the USA so just in case they ask or if I ever get pulled over)

It looks good so far... The only thing I'd worry about is the cracking in the warm weather.... (I experienced it.... no fun.... had to redo hours of work).
Is it impossible to remove the soft rubbery stuff altogether?
That's why I chose the plastic repair so that when everything heats up it will heat up at the same rate and expand at the same rate. Hopefully I don't experience any cracking. The rubber material is too thick to take it all off. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
its looking good, but for future reference you should mask off the inner frame and any area you dont want to build up to high or sand to low. makes for a much easier job. looking forward to seeing finished pictures, let me know if you need any help along the way
