2000 Civic climate/audio controls in Acura EL

Hi All,

This is my first post on the site, although I have been following the forums and learning a great deal from all of you on here for about a year now.

I have searched all over and could not find any info on whether or not the climate/audio control pod from the 2000 civic will fit in the 2000 Acura 1.6 EL (Canadian and Japanese only). I do not own the EL yet, but am looking at getting one and would like to use the bezel from the civic since it's so easy to fit a touchscreen in there (the EL bezel is more like the 96-98 civic's). Don't know if it would require a complicated swap like the 96-98 to 2000 that I've seen others do on here...

I am deciding between a few cars now and the ease of integration of a car-puter is one of my deciding factors. I am attaching a pic. of the bezel from both the Civic and the Acura.

well im guessing its very similar to the 98 to 99-00 climate conversion that is if it can be done.. ive never seen it, from wat ive heard its a very long process personnaly it sounds like a realy ******

Swapping from a manual climate control to full electronic like in the 99-00 civics is a bit of a process. Take a read through that, maybe it will shed some light on the subject for you. It's from 99-00 civic to 96-98 civic, but the acura 1.6EL climate controls are very similar. You'll have a hell of an easier time getting a 7" screen into the 99-00 than the 96-98 though.
