oh alright.... i get it now...

kind of a neat idea. I dont think it'll look ghetto but I would recommend just using custom sticker decals. I'm sure there are places online to make them but getting the right size might be a *****

Find a place that will make those cool puffy stickers? You know, the kind from when we were kids that had a kinda soft plastic rubber piece on the front....

Sorry for the silly sticker, it was just an example of the puffy sticker. I think it would the least ghetto of all. Plus all the 6 year olds in the 'hood would be like "man, that's one neato puffy sticker!"

personally, I think that scotts idea will be the least ghetto, with the puffy sticker coming in a close first, next to the stuck on piece of paper

Escalade182, Thanks for the comments. I actually want to keep away from stickers since I want this whole project to be interchangable. Thats why I am looking for a solution that would allow me to use the snap buttons like I was talking about that way it would just pop right off, and pop right on.

Puffanug, Thats actually not a bad idea... Althought I dont know how good that would last and hold up against rain and heat and such.... But that is a great idea none the less.. Thanks

Red GTi VR6, I agree actually. scott_fx had the best idea so far since that makes it closer to the original rather than after market... If that makes any sense... You still didnt comment though, did the pictures change your mind? Or you still feel this is a "ghetto" project

Here are some more pictures of my FIRST attempt.... This is just a sheet of photo paper with spray glue on the back. But I have to admit, you honestly couldnt tell the difference. It did look great....in my opinion anyways....

Is the bowtie part of the bumper metal? Maybe a magnetic backed emblem would be good. If you had a strong enough magnet to keep it on at high speeds, that would rock! It would make changing them real easy too...

The stock plastic bowtie should come out easily. Mine has a wing nut on the back of it, once removed you can pull the whole thing out.. I would agree with scott_fx, make a mold and then make your own custom emblem.

tj!2k4, LED Bowtie = AWESOME! hehe But, not my thing....

Red GTi VR6, Dallas MP3car Meet? Oh that sounds very cool... I'll try to make it. This Sunday? (June 4th 2006) Right?

Furevo, Very cool artwork But I do not want to touch the original bowtie. I have no issue with making new ones and screwing anything else up, but I do not want to mess up the original so I can always go back easily if I wanted to...

Puffanug, That would be cool actually. But the actual grill isnt metal. Its all plastic. That silver strip the bowtie lays into is plastic.

stealinfool, Yes the original comes out very easy with no problems... If I can do what scott_fx said easily then that is definitly the way to go.
