Amp Rack Photos/Installation?

Well as I mentioned before I'm in design mode right now, just brainstorming ideas and figuring things out. This will probably get done before my door panels which i may save for last, early next year.

Originally I posted up a picture before of an amp rack going across my trunk horizontally.

After checking out a few other installs, i read about someone using an actuator to motorize the rack and integrate it into thier alarm system, I thought this was a pretty cool idea.

Before we get into technical details, I first need some design ideas. I want to go for that molded in/flush look.

As far as installations go, I've been on the carsound.com forums for the 18 hours literally, before i went to sleep earlier and I've been trying to find install logs but havent come across many. Many are broken and pictures links are just dead.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can look for some install logs. I check out some demo vehicles for ideas as well as some cars i came across on sounddomain.com

Appreciate any help!

Oh and before we have a repeat of my door panel thread,

I'm just PLANNING. I'm not jumping into anything right away or buying stuff.

If you see sketches with tons of equipment, it doesnt mean i'm going to use it all, its just an idea.

For reference, here is the original idea i came up with for an amprack in my trunk, this still left me with lots of room to remove my spare tire as well.

My IDMAX 12's will be fiberglassed into the sides of the trunk leaving me with so much trunk space I could probably sleep in there

I see 4 caps and 6 amps. Ditch the caps and get two batteries. Also, with the amps on an angle like that, the trim panel to cover them up is going to be REALLY hard to make.

Why do you need 6 amps?

Well for door panels, I was able to find tons of installations, lots of in progress installations.

I'm baically just looking for design ideas/worklogs. I may try expanding my search. But my main thing is to find a couple of worklogs...

I checked yours out btw. I doubt ill be doing anything like that, but its still a good reference. Once again really nice job on that, I've never seen that before =)

As far as motorization, I will do it, but I may not be the installer. My cousin has done similar work, he's really good with this type of stuff, so im actually going to be watching him work on that part. He's been doing it for quite some time now.

Making the rack slide manually is the easy part. I've made a sliding rack for my moms typewriter, under the desk Came out really great.

Lots of subs I guess... big subs... but at most im going to have 3...

1 interior and 2 for subs. and if do something with the rear deck, 4.

i had dreams of a grand and incredible system once. then i realized my car was a pos compared to the system i wanted, and that simplicity is FAR better than showiness. now i have a car that deserves a high end, but simple-design system, and thats what she's getting
