Thread: Where to find track sliding panels

i remember those, industrial 'baseboard' i used to sell that stuff when i worked at the hardware store when i was in HighSchool...ugh...too long ago

some problems i see with that:
hard to 'tool'
high friction
flexible across x-axis (wouldn't you want something that was stiff?)
how are you going to paint it?


if you can get it to work; great, more power to you. just wanted to alert you to some hurdles you may have before you invest time iinto that.

Ditto. Especially on the flex.

thue, but little flex wound hurt as much if you just want covering

it doesn't flex as bad, it just because of the size, if i cut them in 7 inch stripes, and attach it to the jeans material i should be okay

i gove up, i need to find better solution so i am going to the hardware store tomorrow, i have about 1/3 inch space in between the bezel , and the monitor, so i am also look for ideas to make a track

id suggest going to you local hobby store instead of the hardware store

I would pc-7/weld some 1/2" x 7"(or whatever) strips of ABS or aluminum to small hinges or just thin wire cable on each end... the track wouldnt be hard at all...

in the metal section of home depot, get like 4 feet of angle aluminum. snipe out the area where an angle is desire... make duplicates for each side and tack/rivet them together, leaving enough space between for the ABS/Alum. door

my search is over i went to the local hobby shop, asked the guy for abs plastic strips, so he took me to the small section, i picked up few abs strips for tracks, and a styrene flexible piece of plastic for slider, all cost me $15.00 considering hobby stores are expensive

that'll work too... except i would recommend metal tracks...

i i went ith ABS because it easier to bond it to ABS faceplate
