I tried to install my Lilliput today...looks horrible! I need help!

I tried to install my Lilliput touchscreen today so I removed the stock bezel from my camry and started cutting away with my dremel to try to make the Lilliput fit where the 2 DIN stock headunit went. Anywho...I guess a I cut the hole a little too big and now theres this funny lookin gap. I'm not sure how to go about sealing up that gap as I have no experience in bondo/epoxy/fiberglass (I don't even know if that's what I'm supposed to use for this fix.) The little tab stickin down in the center on the first and fourth pic is actually a lot further back inside the dash than it looks in the pic. It isn't the cause of the big gap on the top, just to clarify. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Go get some Bondoglass and some superglue, take the guts out of the monitor and take the other Toyota stuff off and then superglue the frame of the monitor to your dash panel in SMALL places. Then just use the Bondoglass to join the lilli frame to your dash piece.

nah its easy to work with, will fill in the gaps and make it look like one piece.

for future referece be sure to go by this rule: measure twice, cut once.

Also FYI you will void your warranty on your lilliput if you start to bondo it so before you do make sure you are willing to take a risk.

heh, I'm not too worried about a warranty on the lilliput. I got it brand new for $100 on ebay so even if I do mess it up I won't feel TOO bad

does bondo dry smoothly though? Because the stock bezel is kind of like...roughish? I don't know how to describe it but it's not a smooth piece of ABS and I guess it would look a little weird if just the sealed parts were smooth and the bezel itself wasn't. btw, in response to JonDubya, I did do some measuring and tried to apply the measurements to the stock bezel but had a really really hard time :-/ hence the gaps!

a.) that actually looks rather decent for dremel work.

b.) dont use bondo or kitty hair, use an epoxy. the difference is major. bondo is not meant to be really structural.

That's why I said Bondoglass AKA kitty hair which IS structurally sound.

for such a small gap. use a tube of epoxy. Dont mess with Fiberglass reinforced bondo. It's messy and a pain to use.

A tube of epoxy = $4 . Get the one that says Plasticweld

After that get a quart of lightweight body filler($8-15, Good brands are Evercoat, Ragegold)

Then get a tube of cheap glazing putty ($3-8) To finish it up.

You'll basically glue the lilliput housing to the bezel. When it dries add lightweight body filler to smoothen it out. Sand down, Use glazing putty to finish up bad spots. Sand more. Prime it. then Paint.

And I WISH my dash was that easy.
