Bueller...Bueller...Bueller. Come on guys...post them up. Having this all in one place would help everyone.
Hi guys, I know there are a number of types, and techniques to reproduce texture finishes. I have found a number of good threads with some examples, want to compile a technique listing including:
1. type (brand) of paint (i.e. SEM, duplicolor, etc)
2. distance paint was sprayed from
3. number of coats
4. clear coat - yes or no
4. anything else relevant.
Also, if you could provide CLOSE up pics of the final finish I would really REALLY appreciate it.

I tried this method out on a bad cell phone battery I had not yet thrown out, just to see how it would turn out. It is super easy and turns out beautiful. If I can find that battery, I'll photograph it and post it, but the links above show exactly how to do the work and how it turns out.
I found the battery. Keep in mind that this image is magnified, the actual texture is finer than it looks in this picture. I also subjected this piece to alot of abuse to check for durability. The bottom where you see the silver is an area where I did not sand the plastic first, and I was able to scratch off the finish. This didn't happen to the areas I sanded first. This piece has been banging around in my truck for over a year, and the finish has held up well. By the way I didn't use duplicolor. Apparently you can use any truck bed liner and vinyl color paint.
