Sorry for the delays in posting iv been jetting around again!
I have been repeatedly chasing the engineers, and the latest update I have had from him is that they have found another finishing company to do the graining using a different method (mopping).
He is sending a sample off to them on Monday so Im afraid we're back to playing the waiting game for the time being
I opened my 700TSV and took some measurements of the mounting points and sketched it up in 3D.
If you want to manipulate in 3D load the following 3D XML viewer and then open the .3dxml file in the attached zip.
The zip also contains an IGES and STEP file for your CAD program of choice.
All of the holes in th back look like a standard metric M3 thread.
Cheese and rice! This is taking 4-EVER!!! Should be worth the wait though.
Guys Ive received another sample finish today and it isnt upto scratch Iv just spoken to the engineers they have another sample going out to me today that hopefully will be good enough to give the thumbs up to and get the 20 finals finished.
Thanks for the hard work mate, but doesnt the panel itself connect to the original bezel using four squared off 'S' type plates?
Would you mind having a look while u have ur xenarc open?
it uses both the squared of "S" things and the standoffs you see in his drawing. The "S" type brackets attach to these standoffs.
The second sample has been approved, the definition on the edges is nice and sharp and the finals are being done as I type.
Do you think it would give a stronger hold if we remade the s brackets so they connect straight to the back of the bezel? I think if we have to attach stand-offs to the bezel , then attach the existing s brackets to these that it would give more flex than just making new taller s brackets?
ll have a much better idea once I get my xenarc apart, which should be soon its about bloody time!
