Cant wait to get mine started when I get it too! I also have some spares available in all different types, however the drilled ones are without buttons so these would need to be sourced elsewhere...

Now onto mounting it... Has anyone considered mounting it to some sort of a cage like the factory radio so that it can be removed and it a little bit self-supporting? My requirements for the project are to be able to return the car to stock very easily by making everything modular. This is why I had an entire radio cage/bezel made a few months ago but for various reasons (quality, fit, etc) Jon's is still the winner so far.

i just finished putting a clear coat on mine. i was thinking of using clear silicone to secure it to the screen. once its secure ill work on mounting it to the frame. slightly more complicated then just mounting it because im making the screen motorized so it can tilt, and lock into place.

I doubt it I assume VW wuill only issue them to genuine anni owners or everyone would have them!
What did you use for the clear coat? Iv just bought some sulfuric acid and am going to try anodising one of the spares ones. Im told by the engineers that the original trim parts (like the sample I sent them) have been anodised so Im gonna see if I can get an even closer match on the finish. Once Iv successfully anodised it, Im gonna try it again using black dye, so might have some black ones of these availble soon too!
