    cant get it out

    does any one know how to take the dashboard out of an 96 chevy tahoe? i got it like a 3rd of the way out but cant get it out all the way! or is there a way i can cut it to get it out of the car so i can sand it down~!!!

    i wouldnt cut it. Thats a bad idea. Make sure you're not missing any screws holding it in, and look around. Do you have pic(s) of how far you've gotten? That will help.

    is it stuck at on the steering wheel column?.. that was the ***** of getting it out in my monte

    remove the dash on ur tahoe

    Turn your ignition forward, dont turn on your truck. Set your emergency brake, and pull the shifter all the way down to the last gear, that should give you enough room to remove the dash.

    ditto, also, if you plan to take a while to get the dash out or such, you may also want to disconnect the battery so that you don't drain the battery from it sitting in the "on" position.

    Just turn your key on far enough to unlock the shifter. Besides once its out, toss it back in park!

    The back of the 'bezel inset' for the gauges is a tight fit on the top of the dash pad. Also, if you have 4x4 buttons, the cables are a PITA to unhook as well as the light switch.
