Firebird or Trans Am dash in Camaro?

I have a 98 camaro and i'm starting to put together my carputer, but i was wondering if you could fit a firebird or trans am dash into it without serious modifications? I know many of their other parts are the same (door panels, center consoles) so i was just wonder if they would fit before i order my screen for the camaro. The reason i want to switch is that i like the round vents and dash layout around radio/ climate controls. Thanks, Drew

Yes, it has been done before. You need to go over to LS1tech and do a search. Try "dash swap" or similar.

Were the 98 camaros the last style dash like the 02's or did it still have the LT1 style dash?

i was looking at them today and it looks to be pretty direct for bolting in, some changes in some wiring but that won't be bad. Now all i have to do is see about finding a newer dark grey trans am or firebird dash...
