you will need to put a piece in there like I said for the TV, go take measurements.
Also the top of those upper rings looks weak, once you strech over that and add the resin, resin shrinks when it hardens, it will bend those upper pieces down and make them non-planar. Also If you wrap out to those sharp points it will look strange. WHat are you doing with the box after glass, Is it just goint to be a box sitting there or are you flushing it into the vehicle, If so you need the outer shape to wrap out to and then the outer shapes of those shapes to flush the whole piece into the car. hope that makes sense.
look at this image, see how the far edge pieces are pieces that are conformed to the vehicle before the boxes are wrapped, but the boxes still just look like blobs in the back of a truck, see why I said you would need to remove the sharp points?
oops heres th image, http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/ins...oofers/440.jpg
It absolutely wont crack or break if done correctly and if done thick enough, but if it can be done in wood easier, i always go that route, it all in all is just better, easier stronger, less hassle, less expense....
Yeah, easier, less hassle, less expensive....but how often has utility taken precedence over looking sweet and being able to show it off to your friends?
no it still looks the same, whaat you do is in the picture for the 4 drivers you build a wooden box behind the drivers, so that all the fiberglass work is not structural to the pressure.
ie. if you refer to the blue fiberglass box I built in the post "my latest fabs"
that blue fiberglass piece is only 1/4 in thick it is not structural to the enclosure, but there just for looks. it comes off of the front to reveal the enclosure. And in the Ferrari images the molded sides are not structural to the sub enclosure either, they are actually separate, you just cant see it.
after some good feedback and a little web surfing i figured that the way i was configuring the rings would make my box look ****ty. so i made the sides as requested and moved the rings. i will lay the fleece today to see hgow it loooks and start to resin tomorrow.
