yeah, i've studied that thread lol. i even pmed that guy a couple months ago i think to ask him about that. thats very doable, its just figuring out how to do it. i'm taking it the a/c controls will not reach down that far, at least i'm not 100% sure. ill have to take it apart tomorrow and see. i'm still confused on how i can move the vents.
here a pic, its a different model, but I think your's would be similar.
You can see that the vent outlet is fixed, which can be cut off, but I'm not sure if the duct coming to the vent is flexible or not?

maybe if i were to move the vents down, i could use something to extend the vents inside the dash downward to connect it to the vents on the outer part of the dash. metal tubing might be a little tricky, but maybe something else thats a little more flexible and easy to work with, and seal it up to the vent properly so there were no leaks of any sort, it would work just as good as it does now. any ideas?

ok i think the a/c controls will reach down an inch or two just like it that other guy's install.
but the air vents, i'm confused on how to go about moving them down a little bit. the vents do clip in in the stock location. i tried doing a search, but i couldn't find anything.
i just did a n avic z1 in my brothers 2001 grand cherokee. its 7 inch double din unit and i managed to get it to fit. i see no problem in getting a 7 inch to fit with the full vents still there. might take some time and skill but its definitely doable.
pictures? eskalad? or lmnop, of the inside ducts that connect to the vents?

i never even got to finish the dash peice. hes planning on buying another one and when i put it in for him ill take pics n show you.
i dont actually have pics of it right now, i might can get a chance to snap some tomorrow. but i got to thinking that the glare might be really bad if it is up too high, and was really thinking of doing this:Quote:

according to the dimensions i found from searching, it seems i'd have enough room to fit it in that 1 1/2 din at the top. i can't really tell unless i had the actual screen. but if i were to put the screen lower in the dash like in the previous post, i could opt for a much larger screen.Quote:
