Yeah, I am really happy with the outcome. The only problem I have right now is the freaking main connector on the LCD controller. It interfere with basically everything I have planning. I am going to remove that stupid connector and solder a bunch of wires instead of that stupid connector. I spent a good 2 hrs last night tracing the freaking pin from the 9pin mini DIN connector to the PCB.
I'm going to have fun solder all 26 tiny solder points (10 of those are GROUND). Funny thing is everytime my father-in-law asking me to change lightbulb or switch in the house, I just told him (or my wife), I am just a freaking computer programmer, I am not EE so I don't know how to do those electrical stuff. Ask your EE nephew to do it.

have you test fitted the aftermarket radio yet? it looks like you test fit an OEM dinsized radio, some times they're slightly smaller on the height wise...

otherwise, using vinyl paint is a paint, usually it comes out slightly rubbery and comes off fairly easy like what you encountered... for your 2nd job it looks great though, gluck with the rest of the build!

Matrix, been waiting to see you start this. Looks really good! Can't wait to see it installed. I like how this option allows you to change your screen easily if you choose. Only issue I had with my 7" Xenarc is the inability to see the screen very well when the roof was off. I may get the transflective screen in the near future. Good luck with the rest of your install!

Well, the system is completed. I still need sometime to configure the Car2PC MBUS adapter with RoadRunner. The IR I built before use to work fine, but somewhat doesn't right now. It received different code (for the same key) each time the key press. Gota mess around more with the Igor Plugin.
I'll take some picture tomorrow or whenever the rain stop. You guys believe it, it's actually raining in Southern California . Yeah we really need some more rain.
While play with the hardware, I run into some overclock site and found something really interesting. I never know that the P3 and the mobo I bought few years back is actually an overclock monster. I try to see what the combo can do and here it is.

    and

Basically, I push the FSB from 100 to 125 while lower CPU core Voltage from 1.75V down to 1.50V. The result is a happy 750MHZ processor.
    It's a P3 600E and Abit BE6 II.

    This is the final result.
The PC is still the same. Well, the mobo+cpu is the same but I overclock it to 750Mhz and lower core voltage down to 1.50V. The Matrox video card is replace with an Asus GForce4 Ti 4200 I have laying around. Sound Blaster 16 is replaced with a SB Live. The case is getting a little smaller but not much smaller than before.

Some screen shot with RR running and my custom skin.

The little black thing hanging to the left of the HU is the Simple IR. I gota redo that thing cuz it doesn't work well right now.

All control button are in black. The one above the LEDs is the power button and SDC's kill switch. 2 buttons to the left of the factory hazard switch are the ACC switch for the SDC and switch for the screen. The screen is auto on but that switch is for manual on/off.

Well the wrinkle effect paint is really nice as it can hide some imperfection to the final piece. Before applied clear coat, it wasn't that wrinkle. Once the clear coat applied, it just started to shrink. The result is really wrinkle in some area but not much on other.
Well, at least much much better than my previous job

Just for you guys to have an idea what the effect before and after clear coat is apply. Note that the bezel was dry like a week before I spray clear coat (same brand.)
